Blast from the Past

Since February starts tomorrow, I thought I'd add some love pictures...ie wedding pictures ;)  Almost 5 years ago, Mr. E and I walked down the aisle at Church Street Station.  We were married in the Orchid Garden Room by my father.  It was a beautiful ornate room.
Unfortunately, they changed it to Club Paris a few years later.  Yes Paris Hilton!  All this beauty was turned in pepto pink beauty.  YUCK!!!  So sad!  However, I'm glad I was married there in it's prime ;)

Everyone enjoyed themselves at our wedding and we had a good time.  Here are my girls and Mr.E's guys.  So HOT!!
And don't you worry of course you need the lovely and still happily married couple!  We are a gorgeous couple!  ;o)

We partied the night away with the greatest friends and family and a fantastic dj.  The open bar helped too ;)
And all because 2 people loved each other......

Biggest Loser!

Mr. E still has his pregnancy weight from when I was pregnant with Little Lion.....TWO YEARS AGO!  hehe  Well his work has decided to do the Biggest Loser.  They are doing weekly weigh ins to see who loses the most weight in percent.  This starts in February.  So I've been looking into workout videos for us (yeah me too).  I want to tone up before ruining my body by being pregnant.

I was reading some fitness message boards and see a lot of people are doing the 30 Day Shed with Jillian Michaels from the Biggest Loser tv show.  The promise of losing 20lbs in 30 days sounds good to us :)  Being the cheapskate that I am, I'm borrowing it from the library and trying it out.  While I was looking around, I realized that Netflix has workout videos...score!  But what's great about it is that we have tivo and we can watch instantly all sorts of workout videos on the big screen.  A different one every day!!!!

So last night we were checking out Jillian's Cardio Kickboxing.  We weren't doing the activity.  All of a sudden we see Little Lion doing the moves!  Soooo cute!  He was kicking and punching.  Mr. E starting doing it with him.  What a motivator!  Here are some pictures of my kickboxing 2 year old....don't mind all the toys and half naked husband:)

I'll keep you posted on the Biggest Loser.  It's for $250.  And Mr.E is extremely competitive :)  He wants a new Ipod touch ;)

Babies, Babies, Babies

The last of my pregnant friends...for now.... had her baby on the 15th.  We didn't get to see the little bundle until today because of our sickness which we are over thank goodness.  Meet C and T's baby boy Chase!
Mom did a fantastic job....he was 9lbs 8 ozs!!!!!!  He is a cutie and very stylish (we bought him that outfit)!  Does it give me baby fever????  YUP!  His big brother C, one of LL's BFFs is adjusting well.  I like the brotherly love ;)

For My Midwestern Readers :)

Mr. E comes into our room this morning all excited.  Mind you I am sleeping!!!!  He tells me there is SNOW outside!  Now I know it was supposed to be our coldest night of the season for Orlando....30 degrees.  REALLY?!?!?!  I make him open the curtains in our room....I wasn't getting up ;)

Me:  I don't see anything.
Mr. E:  Look at the roofs!
Me:  You woke me up to see frost?
Mr.E:  It's snow!  I even took pictures!
Me:  No, it's dew that's frozen.  It's not snow, trust me I'm from Wisconsin.
Mr.E:  Yeah, well I can't go to work.
Me:  Why?
Mr.E:  We don't have an ice scraper.
Me: :) giggles

Yes he did turn the car on and deFROSTed the windows and went to work.  But I thought I'd share with you our Florida snow according to my husband who has lived here most of his life;)

Does anyone want to email him REAL snow pictures???? ;)

Petty Pedi Vent....I'm funny ;)

First before I get into my vent of the day.  I'm feeling better, but my ears are still slightly  clogged.  Thanks for all your good wishes :)

SO Little Lion turned 2 a few weeks ago.  I took him to his 2 year wellness appointment which is where we found out about his ear infection which I blogged about already.  However, I forgot to tell you how irritated I got at the Pediatrician aka Pedi!!!!  At the appointment, Pedi was all concerned that Little Lion weighed only 26 lbs when he's been on the curve for above average in weight.  I was thinking ummmm he's sick and not eating, surely he's skinnier than usual.  So she is asking what I feed him and if he drinks milk.  I tell her and say he drinks Silk Soy Milk.  Pedi gets a horrified look on her face and asks which one.  I tell her the Vanilla.  Here's our conversation.

Me:  Vanilla
Pedi: Um That's all sugar!
Me:  Really???  I didn't think it had that much sugar.
Pedi:  You really need to try regular milk or start mixing it with the regular Silk.
Me:  I really didn't think it is that bad.  LL doesn't do well on regular milk.
Pedi:  All you're doing is giving him sugar with the Vanilla Silk!  I'm really concerned about his food/sugar intake.
Me:  (guilt starts creeping up) Oh.

I was really feeling guilty that all I was doing was giving him sugar and no nutrition.  When I got home I checked the amount of sugar in the Vanilla Silk....7%.  That's not bad!!!!  I check the 2% milk we have...12%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YOU'RE TELLING ME TO GIVE HIM SOMETHING WITH MORE SUGAR AND MAKING ME FEEL GUILTY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Ugh I was soooo irritated with the Pedi.  And because I'm a little obsessive, I even checked out the Silk products at the grocery store.  The Plain Silk milk in the red box (which she told me to mix) was 6%.....ohhhh that'd make a difference with the 7% Vanilla in the blue box.  I also looked at the Very Vanilla Silk Milk in the purple box which LL has NEVER had.  That one had 16% sugar....OK I can understand you freaking out about that one, but come on get your facts straight and NOT MAKE ME FEEL GUILTY FOR NO REASON!!!!

We went back yesterday to recheck his ears.  All clear!!!  And LL gain 1.5 lbs in 2 weeks.  UMMM I think he's feeling better :)  I also asked for my records which will be sent to a new Pedi who is informed and is supportive of my parenting decisions.

Me Update

So last night I felt bad enough to venture to the Minute Clinic to see why my head felt like it was going to explode and my ear was clogged.  I thought maybe an ear infection even though I've NEVER had one.  First off the Minute Clinic was dead, and I didn't have to wait ;)  The nurse practitioner was nice and checked me out.  Yup DOUBLE ear infection!!  I'm now on amoxicillin for 10 days just like Little Lion :)  Fun times!

On a side note, I'd go to the Minute Clinic if you kinda know what your issues are and need a quick fix without having to wait for an appointment.  The nurse practitioner also gave me some tips on how to blow your nose....blow with both sides at the same time, not do one side and then the other because the closed side gets pushed into your ear cavities, hence the ear infections.  Interesting!

Hopefully I'll feel better SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kitty 911

My lovely in-laws are in India at the moment for my mother-in-law's knee replacements....yes that's right India.  This could be a whole blog post in itself, but I'll save that for later when all is said and done.  Anyway, they live on a few acres of land by our house.  Over the past couple of years, stray cats have come and gone.  My MIL feeds them occasionally.  Well the mommy cat, had 4 kittens about a month ago.  As the inlaws were leaving, they asked if Little Lion and I could come over every couple of days to feed them and feed their coy fish.  Sure no sweat.  I need all the Daughter-in-law points I can get ;)

5 days later, we get over to there house.  (Now don't think bad of me, I was sick and still am for that matter)  I call for the kitties.  They won't come to you, but will come out of hiding.  All of a sudden I hear this loud meowing.  LL and I go searching for the cat.  It is in their LOCKED garage!!!  I don't have a key, but this poor baby obviously was hungry and wanted out!!!

I called my brother-in-law B.  He says he doesn't know how to get in and that other BIL, A didn't either.  GREAT!  B says he'll be fine.  I'm sure there is mice in there.  BUT no water!!!  I reminded him.  BIL B thought maybe BIL T would know.  He texted him.  (Confused yet???  Mr. E has 3 younger brothers, B, T, and A) .

I take LL out to the back of the house where the kitties hang out and feed them.  I notice the 3 kittens.  There should be 4.  They are still nursing and I'm really starting to panic that the poor baby was going to die in there!  I try to wait patiently while LL feeds the fish and plays on their swing set.  (Yes the grandparents have a very fancy swingset!)

BIL B finally calls me back.  He says there is a lock box and here's the code.  WHEW!!!  I immediately go to the garage and open the door hoping not to see something bad.  Nope just a very hungry kitten who was afraid to come out.  So I put some food down outside the door and walk away.  Eventually kitty came out ;)  Hooray!!!

I see the Mommy cat come quickly and started licking and loving on the baby.  AWWWW :)  I've done my good deed for the day!  Let's hope it pays off and my sickness goes away!!!!!!

Happy Sick Second Birthday!!!!

My baby is 2!!!!  Yesterday was as good as can be with a sicky boy who really wasn't in the mood for festivities or cake for that matter;(  We pretty much stayed inside all day.  We put up his birthday Lion and let him open his presents.  Notice the snot filled face and watery swollen eyes;(
We bought him lincoln logs and a bath coloring board.  Daddy promptly had to give him a bath and it helps the fever too.  Not only do the colors work on the board, but they work on the Little Lion too.
We also got him a bunch of balloons to play with since we were stuck inside.  He really liked the Elmo one since it played happy birthday when you hit it and the Mickey Mouse one.

That was pretty much our day...tissues, baths, tylenol, and watching Max and Ruby with a few birthday activities thrown in.  Today, LL was feeling a little better....wayyyyyy less snot!  So we went out to the BIG present....a trampoline!

Little Lion really liked jumping on it and he even more liked jumping on it when Daddy was holding him!

And this is what happens when it is time to come in because he nose was leaking.

All in all the day wasn't bad. It was the best we could do. I'm just thankful that today he is feeling a little better :) Now comes the terrible twos!

Mommy Guilt Stinks!!!!

My *baby* turns 2 tomorrow;o(  I can't believe it!!!  Where does the time go????  We planned a family birthday party for tomorrow at our house.  I had everything planned and ready to go.  Alas LL had other plans.  He is sick!!!  Mr. E was kind enough to bring home this awful cold and share with LL which in turn will hit me in the next few days.  LL has a fever, runny nose, watery eyes and a hacking cough.  The poor guy!!!!
Needless to say, we canceled the party;(  I'm feeling very guilty to not give him a party on his birthday.  He only turns 2 once.  Yes I know he won't remember it, but I will and I won't have any pictures of his party.  I'll still make him cupcakes tomorrow, but since he hasn't been eating much, I doubt he'll eat that.  He was sick last year too.  I hope this isn't a trend!  I also feel guilty because we won't be able to do anything fun for his birthday:(  I'll try to make the day as fun as possible for a sicky blah kid.

Here's to my baby turning 2!  I love you Little Lion!!!

Resolutions!

Happy New Year!!!  Welcome 2009!!!!

A very random side note about 2009 first....This is the last year people will be able to wear these glasses since there won't be 2 eye holes with 2010.  The next time will be 3000!  Interesting!
Now is the time to think of new resolutions and reflect on last years.  Let's start with my resolutions from last year.

1.  Decide whether or not to have another child.  Little Lion is a super kid and I love him dearly, but let's face it....Parenting is hard.  The lack of sleep, giving up me time were biggies for me.
***We decided to give LL a sibling sometime in the near future.  He needs to have a playmate.  And even though parenting is hard, it is soooo worth it;o)  And we're still young (at least I am LOL).

2.  Help Little Lion be more social.  LL enjoys going out, but he is a clinger.
***We joined a few mommy and me classes and had lots of playdates.  We also go somewhere almost everyday of the week.

Ok now for this years resolutions.

1.  Be pregnant by the end  of the year;o)  Hopefully;o)

2.  Be more patient and consistent with Little Lion.  Since he'll be 2 in 2 days, I bet the terrible 2's will kick in this year...ahhhh!

3.  Have regular date nights with Mr. E.  We have season tickets to the Orlando Predators, but the arena football league cancelled this season.  So our 8 already set in stone date nights have been cancelled.  We'll have to get creative and find fun stuff to do :)

I think that is all for now:)  I hope you're resolutions are good ones and attainable ones:)
