The End of the Month!!!

Mr. E always warns me that *the end of the month* means the cops are out!  Well I guess he is right.  I got a speeding ticket today!  UGH!!!
So I'm driving Little Lion to meet some friends at the park today.  We were going to a park across town.  I decided to call my Mom and chit chat while driving.  I'm on the highway.  As I'm about to pass the trooper on the side of the road, I say to my mom he is totally going to pull me over and I look at how fast I'm going.  Sure enough he pulls out and puts the lights on.

I pull over.  He comes up to the door and asks if I was on the phone.  Yes. Do I know what the speed limit is.  Yes, it's 65, but JUST changed to 55.  He tells me I was going 74 which I probably was :)

Of course the SNEAKY trooper sits right after the 10 mph drop to get unsuspecting drivers which I looked like since I was on the phone.

He comes back with a ticket for $111.  He tells me that he's giving me a *break* by putting 9 miles over the limit instead of 19.  I personally think a break would be a warning ;)  He just knew I knew he was being SNEAKY!!!

There goes my Mother's Day gift right out the door.  One of the joys of not working and feeling guilty over money.

Another interesting thing I found was that if you take the driver's class you don't get a discount on the ticket anymore.  You just don't get the points taken off your record.  I wonder how much insurance would go up with a speeding ticket????  Is it worth my time and effort to take the class??? UGH!!  At least I'll be in Paris and London in a week :)

One Week!!

It's almost here!! We will be departing for Paris in ONE WEEK!!!  I'm very excited and nervous for leaving LL for the first time!  I know he will be in good hands with my parents....I turned out all right :)

The blogging will be slow since I'm trying to get ready to go.  Hopefully I'll be able to update on our trip.

Beach Day!!

Today was a beautiful Florida day!!  The sun was out, the birds were chirping, and we headed to the beach!  This was the first time we've been to the beach since Hawaii.  You'd think we'd go more often since we're only 45 mins away, but you take it for granted because it is so close.  We decided to go to Daytona Beach because you can drive your car on the beach which means less hauling of stuff (with a toddler there is A LOT of stuff!).

When we got there Little Lion went straight to digging!  I didn't even have time to change him into his suit :)
Mr. E dug him a hole and put water into it.  LL had his own ocean *pool*.

After sitting in the pool in his clothes, we changed him to his suit.  He loved jumping in the pool.

LL was too funny! He liked being in the water, but he didn't like that it kept chasing him! Every time he went to go into the ocean, a wave came in and he would turn around and high tail it out. He didn't want the waves to get him :)

What a happy family we are!! Look I was there too and not just taking the pictures :)

Can't wait to go back!!!! Who wants to join us?????

Saturday "Pole"ty

Like I said my weekend was busy ;) My fellow blogger friend T turned 30 on Saturday and she did it in style :) After an early dinner, we revisited our pole dancing class. It was different than last time. We learned a few more moves and had the place to ourselves! I think we all look like HOT MAMAS!!!

OK now to brag about my pole skills since Mr. E doesn't believe what a natural I am :)

Thanks T for a great time! Welcome to your 30's!!!!!

Knock Knock Who's There??

This weekend has been a busy one!!  It started on Friday.  We had a new front door installed.  Why you ask?  Well we have one side light that if someone comes up to our front door, you can look straight through our house.  That is NOT safe!  Since I'm home with LL alone all week, we figured we should put some safety features in place.  Also our door frame was started to get water damage at the bottom on the frame which was probably from the hurricanes a few years back.  I decided to document the process.  Here is our original door.  Little Lion was enjoying the view because it's the last time he was able to look out onto the street.

The Lowe's installer came bright and early. He was nice and thorough in telling me what was going on. He even called me when it was time to take a new blog picture :) The first step was to take out the door.

Then he installed the new sidelight. We went for an etched glass design. Not only is it beautiful, but harder for people to look into our house.

The door has matching etching in the middle. We also put in a fiberglass frame, so those hurricanes (which we are due for) won't damage the door.

We are overall happy with the whole process and the door! It isn't finished yet. We have to wait for the code inspectors to check it out and then paint the door. We have enlisted my dad to paint while we are gone to Paris. When they come to watch Leo we really make them work :) Here are before and after pictures.

Fun with Firemen!!!

First off, get your mind out of the gutter :)  Little Lion and I went to the fire station today with a new playgroup.  We had a great time!  It was really interesting to tour the station and get to see all of the equipment on the trucks and meet some nice firemen :)

LL and I got our picture taken in front of the biggest fire truck. You think he wasn't interested, but he was watching the other fire truck pull out of the garage. Once he got down he went right to it. The flashing lights were a big hit!

All the kids got really cute firemen hats. Leo wouldn't wear his, but our friend V looked adorable in hers!

The firemen even let the kids *put out the fire* or try and hit the cone with the fire hose. LL was a little scared, but definitely interested when V and her mom Y were giving it a try.

At the end one of the firemen put on all of his gear. Some of the kids were scared and I thought for sure LL would be....NOPE! He was checking him out....me too :) He was a cutie (I can look, but not touch ;).

All in all, the fire station is a fun outing for the munchkins and mommies too!! Gotta give love to the firemen who were patient with all of our 2 year olds and are always there for us when needed!

Easter Fun!

Whew!  What a busy and fun weekend!!  It was soooo busy that this is going to be a long blog :)  Don't forget you can click on the pics to see them better too!

Friday started our Easter fun.  Mr. E decided that we should let Little Lion play with his new Easter Toy....a water table/sink.  Our friends C and T had bought one for Little C.  When LL had gone over to play with Little C, they had the best time pouring and dumping water.  It even kept them entertained for a long time, and as any Mom knows that is PRICELESS.  We had to get one for him!
Saturday morning, I forgot that I didn't have Easter cards for the grandparents.  So I stole an idea from my friend T's blog!  (Thanks T!!!)  And a cute handprint idea from the internet.  They were a hit with the grandparents!!!
Saturday afternoon, we went over to Mr. E's parents house for Easter brunch. The kids played outside for a while and we ate a nice brunch. Here's Uncle B with LL and M....Iphone is everyone's friend :)
Easter morning, the Easter Bunny had paid us a visit.  LL had to look around the living room to find the hidden eggs.  Inside the eggs was money!!

LL favorite toys in his basket were, Max and Ruby!!  These bunnies are from his favorite tv show!  He LOVES them.

On our way to my parents, LL HAD to take Max and Ruby with him. And from all the excitement of the weekend, he couldn't stay awake anymore :)

My parents have a pool.  We haven't been in it since before our trip to Hawaii.  I was amazed at how brave LL has become.  He really wants to swim by himself.  LL also loves jumping in, and you had better be ready to catch him!!!

Mommy and Daddy enjoyed the pool with Little Lion too!

Here's our happy family plus Max and Ruby :) I hope your Easter was as nice as ours :)
