Thanksgiving Feast #1

I've been a bad blogger, but for good reason! I have been super busy this past week. We have been going nonstop! There have been events at Little Lion's school and my cousins from Wisconsin came for a visit. So to catch up I'm post SEVEN blog updates for the week ;) Plus many, many pictures! So here we gooooooooo

Blog Post #1

This past Thursday was Little Lion's Thanksgiving feast at school. It was really cute. The kids all dressed up as Indians (Native Americans for you PC people ;).Then we went and feasted on yummy finger foods. My picky LL ate his fruit cup from home.
At the end of every month, I've been taking pictures of all the projects LL has been doing at school since I don't think I'm going to keep them all just the few that are too cute to get rid of. Here are November's projects.Don't forget to keep reading about our weeks adventures :)

Family Visit #2

Blog Post #2 of our week

My cousin S and his wife J brought their 2 boys B, who is 4, and C, who is 2 down from Wisconsin to stay with us for the week. Hence the reason I haven't blogged in a while...we've been busy!!! So you get all of these blog updates and TONS of pictures to go along with it. It's like you're actually there ;) haha

There first day here, we decided to do something low key since the kids were tired from the flight and adjusting to sleeping changes. We went to Downtown Disney for the day. The Festival of Masters was going on which is an outdoor art show that has little activities for the kids to do too.

We also checked out the shops. The funniest part was in the Magnet store where everything is a magnet. Little Lion LOVES doughnuts. He saw the doughnut magnet and thought he should take a bite. I had to quickly distract him since he wanted it and didn't understand why he couldn't :)The best part of the day was exploring Legoland! One of the kid's activities was to help build Buzz Light Year. All of the kids loved looking at the different lego sculptures!

We headed home for an early evening since we planned on hitting Disney and Universal in the next two days....are we crazy????

Disney #3

Blog Post #3 for our week

One of my good friends, S, helped get a few of us into Disney on Sunday. We got their bright and early in hopes of less crowds. Luckily their wasn't too much traffic on Sunday at the Magic Kingdom. You can't go to MK without the castle picture. We headed over to one of my favorite rides...Buzz Light Year. Buzz was out signing autographs and taking pictures. LL wasn't too sure about him. Our next ride is Mr.E's favorite...the race cars. Mr.E even let LL drive the car :) Mr. E took Little Lion on his first roller coaster at Toon Town. LL wasn't a big fan, but he didn't cry while he was on it either;)We even met Mickey and Minnie. We rode all of the kids rides which I've never done in one day, but since the crowds were so slim we were able to!
And what happens when you ride all the rides?????Love Disney!!

Universal #4

Blog Post #4 update for the week

We didn't get up quite so early for our second day in a row of theme parks. We got to Universal around 10. It was sooooooooo dead!!! It was fantastic! The longest we waited for any ride was 10 mins!! That NEVER happens!! Of course the little ones couldn't ride on most of the rides at Islands of Adventure, but us adults took turns swapping out kids to ride. Here we are in the Marvel Comics area.Mr.E and Little Lion in the comics. The kids enjoyed Suess Landing the best. A favorite was the carousel. We finished the entire IOA in 3 hours!!! And that was riding all the rides! We headed over to Universal Studios for the afternoon. You'll notice that there are not so many pictures. Why you ask....we were tired :) 2 days of theme parks was exhausting!! Nonetheless we hit most of the rides. Here I am at Jaws. And the kids playing on the playground at Curious George.Look how tired LL is and poor C, he wasn't up to par that day at all! Everyone went to bed early!!

The Cousins' #5

Blog Post #5 of the week update

On Tuesday night, my parents came down to babysit the munchkins while the adults went out for dinner and drinks. The kids were excited to hang out with Aunt M and Uncle J or Grandma and Pop Pop for LL. Here we are all dressed up nice and ready to ditch..I mean miss...the kids.We went to BJ's Brewhouse for dinner and drank our fair share of their home brewed beer.
After dinner we headed over to the Blue Martini for BEER...beer before liquor never sicker, so no martini's for us. We got home at a whopping 11:00! That's what happens when you have kids and the husband has to work the next day ;)

Bounce House #6

Blog Post #6 of the week

My cousins' had a late flight out on Wednesday. So we decided to bring the kids to the bounce house for a couple of hours in the morning. LL and B had so much fun together. Poor C was still sick;( LL followed B around and was trying to show off his skills. Here are the boys bouncing. However, the bounce house wasn't their favorite part. The older boys really enjoyed the slide they were climbing up and sliding down and climbing up the slide and sliding down the slide....over and over and over and over :)

There was also some ride on games which the boys enjoyed.
And our very bad attempt to get a picture with all three boys :)
All in all it was a fun week with the family and I'm sure the kids enjoyed every minute of it!

St. Jude's Trike a Thon #7

Blog Post # 7 of our week

Little Lion's school did a trike a thon for St.Judes last week. They were asked to raise money to donate and then the students got to bring their bike to school for a morning of riding fun! During the week they learned about bike safety and riding with helmets. Here is my cutey getting ready to ride.
He started off really well. Then Grandma had to get him going. And finally I had to help him finish out :)It was so adorable to watch Little Lion's 2 year old class cruising around on their bikes! What a fun fundraiser for such a good cause!

RIP Batman;( 4/01/99-11/9/09

Yesterday was a very very sad day for me! We had to put my 11 year old cat, Batman, down. Batman was a HUGE part of my life. I rescued him from the shelter right after I moved out on my own. I was lonely and was thinking about getting a dog. Of course when you go to the pound you have to look at all the cute kitties too! This cat was the only one who came up to me and was loving all over me. I thought awww how sweet and hmmm they can be litter box trained. A worker came over to me and asked if I was interested in adopting him. I said that I wasn't sure since I didn't know if I wanted a cat or dog yet. The worker said, well if you want this cat you better decide today since tomorrow he will have been here for a week and we put him down. Well that sealed the deal. He was MINE!!!

He was a great kitty! He was very playful and loving. He loved curling up next to me and sleeping on my head. All of my friends loved him and his great personality. Batman warmed up to Mr.E and let me know he was the one. Batman was a great big brother to Little Lion. He let him tug on him and pull his tail without ever biting. Kitty was one of LL's first words.

This weekend he took a turn for the worse. Batman had started not eating his hard food a while back, and I switched to wet food which he ate. But this past weekend, he decided to not eat any of his food. He wasn't his normal active self. So I took him to the vet yesterday morning. He had a low temperature which made the vet think his kidneys were the problem. His fibrosarcoma was also back. He had this 2 years ago that is a cancerous tumor that is the result of vaccines on his left hip. When they removed it, they give only a 50-50 chance of survival of a year. It was TWO years at this point. I didn't think it'd come back. I wasn't too concerned since the vet thought a change of diet would work if it was kidney disease, and we've been through the removal of the tumor. So I leave him there for blood work.

The vet calls me back and tells me that his levels were super high which is very bad. He would need a blood transfusion and 4-5 night stay at the vet to get him back into shape. Then I would need to give him shots EVERYDAY as well as change his diet. And in a few months he would have to go back to get surgery to remove his tumor on his hip. The vet wasn't even sure he'd make it through the blood transfusion since he was weak. So after a lot of tears and heartfelt decisions. I decided to put him down. I couldn't make him go through all that pain and suffering. He wouldn't want to live like this.

I went back to the vet with Mr.E. We left Little Lion with grandparents since he doesn't understand what's going on and didn't want to have him worry why mom was crying. We sat with Batman for 30 mins and told him what a good kitty he is and how much we love him. We even stayed while the vet put him under. It was very peaceful and I'm glad that I was there with him when he passed. We took him to Mr.E's parents house and buried him next to their family dog. I know he's in a better place with no pain or worries.

So in honor of my first baby here are my favorite pictures of him through the years. Here Batman is as an only child.

What a great big brother!

Batman I love you and miss you dearly! There will never be another cat like you! You were my partner in crime!! I will see you in heaven!
