BURGLAR!!!!!
Mr. E and I were fast asleep last night when we were both woken up by the sound of a LOUD staticy radio station coming from the front of the house. It was midnight on the dot. We both shot up in bed and I made Mr. E get up and go see what was going on. My mind of course was racing. I was thinking about Little Lion and how I would get to him. What would a burglar want in our house and why would he make so much noise. Mr. E goes out to the front room and I stay behind. Shortly after the radio shut off. There was no other noise...thank god! I knew it was nothing big, but what was it. Mr. E came back in and said Little Lion must have turned the alarm on the clock radio on without us knowing. Of course we didn't have it set for a specific time hence the 12:00 on the dot wake up call. That little stinker!!! And do you think Little Lion even woke up...NO!! Back to sleep we went until the next alarm at 6:30.

Why I stay home
Finally my ESOL class is done...wooo whooo!!! My poor Little Lion has been passed around all week between people. Monday, Little Lion went to the inlaws house. Now to preface this post, I must add that we have a strained relationship. I know they love Little Lion, but the things they do can down right irritate the junk out of me and Mr. E.
So Sunday night, being the good mom that I am, I write down all important information, what he'll eat for lunch and snacks which of course are in bags ready to go, and that he goes down for a nap between 1-1:30 and since he's not used to their house to just lay with him on the bed and he'll go to sleep with no problems. I call at lunch to check on him which I've down everyday this past week, and I get no answer. I call Mr.E yup he's been calling all morning too....no answer. So I'm already annoyed as is Mr. E. My class gets done at 1. I figure that since I'll be home in 45 minutes, I'll just put him down and that way I can get my homework done in peace. I call and actually get through. Grandma E says "shhh he's sleeping"....it's 1:00...."Wow I reply that was quick"...."oh well he's not really sleeping, I put him in the crib awake and he's crying. When I watch other grandson, he goes right to sleep. Plus Little Lion napped at 12:00 for 20 mins...I rocked him." UMMMMMMM this is not what I asked or normally do with Little Lion!!!! Why would you make my poor baby cry in an unfamiliar crib in an unfamiliar room and not do what I ask of you to make this week as easy as possible for Little Lion without throwing off his schedule??? So I calmly tell her to take him out and I'll be there in a few to rescue...I mean pick up....Little Lion. I arrive there and Little Lion is NOT in the same outfit I sent him in. "Oh he got a little wet from the hose, but he didn't like it when it sprayed his face." REALLY?! "Plus I didn't like the outfit you put on him anyway." IT WAS A SHIRT YOU BOUGHT!!!!! I take him home and realize his outfit smells like an ashtray....they don't smoke....it must have been a garage sale outfit that wasn't washed....EWWWWWWWW. And the diaper he was wearing was some generic. Now mind you I sent plenty of diapers for her to use. GRRRRRRR!
So Mr. E decided to take Tuesday off. They of course had a good time. Mr. E was beat though at the end of the day ;)
Wednesday, Little Lion went to my parent's house. Now this is who we call to babysit whenever, we go anywhere. Grandma and Pop Pop adore Little Lion and are great with him. Well I call at lunch as usual and my Dad answers the phone. "How is Little Lion?" I ask...."Well we just got back from the hospital."...."What?!?!"..."I'm kidding...he's fine. Here's Mom." Mom says "Well we had a little fall"...AND...."He tripped on the rug in the kitchen and bit his lip."..."Was he bleeding?"..."Yes, but it's done. It looks like a small blood blister." I'm thinking great, my poor baby. I get to there house and this is what Little Lion looks like!!!!!
UMMMMMM this is not a small cut/blood blister!!!! Ugg to babysitters. Yes I know that falls can happen at my house too, but at least I'm there to comfort him. Of course this has not slowed Little Lion down one bit ;0) And I'm home...back to the usual without any accidents....knock on wood :)

Pass the Bad Mother of the Year Award
Little Lion does not have the largest vocabulary. He says mama, dada, bubble, up, kitty, bye, and hi on a regular basis as well as many sounds....mmmmm, uh oh, and ahhhhh. But recently he has been saying "o shee" I thought he was saying fishy since his bedroom is an underwater theme with fish on the walls. We always point them out when in his room. Little Lion is also a fan of Goldfish crackers. Mr. E didn't agree with me and thought he was saying oh sh!t. I told Mr. E that I don't use that term *too* often. I think we talk about the fish more often.
Well tonight I was making cupcakes, call me Betty Crocker, and spilled some batter on the counter. I proceeded to say Oh Sh!t. Sure enough Little Lion repeated O Shee. Whoops!! I guess I need to be more careful in my use of colorful language. Pass the award as I hang my head in shame. Plus Mr. E was right and that *NEVER* happens;o)

Out of commission
Sorry I haven't blogged in awhile and won't be able to for a week or so either. I'm taking an ESOL class (English Speakers of Other Languages) ;( It is 7 days long and not very exciting. I need to take the class though in order to keep my ESOL teaching certification. Yes I know I'm retired and yes I know I probably won't be going back, BUT it's better to be safe than sorry. I'd have to start over from scratch and take 6 classes as well as pay another $75. Luckily I'm with a few friends to make it less boring. But I digress....
I have learned one interesting thing in my class on linguistics. If you pinch your nose you are not able to say the letters m and n correctly. They are the only two sounds that you push air out through your nose and mouth. All the other letter sounds, sound fine while holding your nose because air is only pushed out your mouth.
You're holding your nose right now, aren't you??? ;)

Wii fit problem!
I think there is something wrong with our wii fit!! So Friday night Mr. E and I had a date night planned. My mom came over to babysit Little Lion. She arrived here early, and we decided to wii fit it up. My mom is a young 61 years old. She enjoys hula hooping on the wii fit. Mom is getting better at it, but not even close to 1st place....she's in 9th ;) But hey you have to give her props for even working at it. So far up to this point she has only done the hula hooping. I suggested she try another game. She decided to do the tight rope walking. This is where you have to balance on the board while *walking* stepping up and down without tipping over. Now Mr. E and I have each only gotten across once without falling hundreds of feet off the rope. Wouldn't you know Mom gets across the thing on her 1st try!!!! And then proceeds to do it again breaking all of our records!!!!! I think the wii fit must be broke! How could my 61 year old mother beat me and Mr. E????? All I can say is that she has been gloating since and won't let us forget. I say the wii fit *MUST* be broke :) Ok off to attempt to break the record ;)

Happy Father's Day Mr. E!!
For Father's day I thought I'd share some of my favorite pics of Mr. E and Little Lion. Mr. E is a great father and a wonderful playmate for Little Lion. When Daddy is in the room, I do not exist. Mr. E is a great teacher to Little Lion, even if it is teaching him to climb on the top of the couch, pick your nose, and change the channel on the remote. I can't wait to see the bond continue and watch my boys together. Enjoy!

Wii fit update
I bet you are wondering how my wii fit workout has been going. Well, I haven't lost or gained any weight in 3 weeks. I have, however, managed to be as young as 21 and as old as 49 as my wii fit age. I wonder how this is an accurate picture of my strength. I have unlocked most of the activities expect 3. And to Mr. E's dismay, I'm pretty much number 1 in all of the activities :) But to his defense, the novelty of the wii fit has worn off and he hasn't used it in a while....like in 2 weeks. Well we'll know who will be in Hawaii shape and who will not. This will be us.
DISCLAIMER: Mr. E is not even close to being this big and there is no way in H3LL would I wear a thong in public :) And of course I love Mr. E just the way he is ;)
