Our Feast!

Thanksgiving was low key this year. Both Mr.E and my parents were out of town which left our brothers. Only 2 decided to join us. It was nice to spend time with them and not have to run around to both sets of parents and feel rushed all day.

Everyone helped out in making the feast. Mr.E was on a mission to smoke a turkey. He did a pretty good job and even got up at 6AM!!
Uncle B made the dessert. A 3 layer carrot cake!! Yummy!!
And Uncle A played with the kiddos.

And me, well I was cooking the rest of the food and making sure everyone was happy :) Oh and of course since I was taking pictures that means there is only one of Flower Power and me which I took!
Finally dinner was ready :) It was delicious! Everyone was stuffed!!

However not stuffed enough to stop Dena and I from hitting the Black Friday sales that evening!! Let me tell you, Walmart is CRAZY on Black Friday!!! I don't think I've ever seen such madness! I think that was a once in a lifetime experience :)

Thankful!

I'm thankful for many things! My family tops the list! This year has been such a blessing with Flower Power growing so quickly and Little Lion loving her and growing too! The bond that they share is amazing and I look forward to watching them in the years to come! Mr.E continues to be the best supporter and best friend! I'm thankful for my parents and Mr.E's! They love our children and help out when needed! I'm thankful for my friends who give me relief from my life when I need a break :) So many things to be thankful for!

Little Lion had his Thanksgiving Feast at school this past week. Here is my Indian, Chief Blue Red Giraffe! Yes that is the name he picked for himself!


They also sang some songs for us!

Cousins and Cartwheels!

My cousins from Wisconsin came for a visit last week. We had a good time taking our families to Universal and having an adult evening which is a rare occurrence! Here are some pictures from our day. Flower Power even went on a few rides!





At Universal the boys were having so much fun playing together! B was teaching Little Lion how to do cartwheels! Future Olympians????

Masks!

Little Lion has been funny lately! His imagination has been shining through! The other day he came rolling through the kitchen like this!You know when Spiderman has issues with his web shooters, he comes in by turtle;o) Don't worry he's still looking out for you!

Little Lion's favorite game is Monopoly. My mom found a Mr.Monopoly costume at Target for 90% off and knew LL would love it! So you can't play and win Ipad Monopoly without being Mr.Monopoly!!

He is so silly!! I love it!!

Baby Hostess with the Mostess

My really good friend Teresa is having a baby next month! Since she is one of my dearest and most wonderful friends, another girlfriend and I threw her a baby shower. We've known Teresa since college and we are in the same sorority together...go AXO! Teresa even introduced me to Mr.E on a drunken night when we lived together. Since Teresa has been with me through all the good times and a few bad, she deserved a fantastic shower!! So I decided to get my craft on! I made a banner with baby's name on it. Ok Dena embroidered the letters, but I sewed the rest! One of the easier, but made a big impression crafts was the door initial diaper wreath. It cost a whole $7 to make!!
The theme of the baby shower was Childrens Books. We named all the menu items off of books.

The cookie favors were super cute made by one of the teachers from LL's school.
For dessert, I made from scratch! red velvet, chocolate, and vanilla cupcakes with homemade cream cheese frosting!
The party was a success and everyone raved about all the hard work we put in to make the shower special! I can't wait to meet Little Wesley and I know Teresa is ready too!! :)

2 Weeks!

2 weeks ago I posted a video of Flower Power taking her first steps. Look at her now!!!


She can get up herself from sitting position and goes!! We have made a safe zone in the family room so if she falls, she'll be ok. However, if FP had her way, she'd be all over the house!!! I worry too much about her on the tile. Baby proofing is in full force in this house!!

Does this mean I have a toddler now and not a sweet baby??? Boooo Hoooo!!!

Jumping!

Mr.E has been traveling a lot these past couple of months. So my parents have been coming over to help out and play with the kids which I appreciate greatly!! (Hi Mom and Dad who read the blog :)

Anyway, Little Lion's favorite things to do in the backyard are play soccer and jump on the trampoline. And being the creative kid that he is, he plays soccer on the trampoline! He can do his fancy kicks and fall on his back without hurting himself better known in the soccer world as a bicycle kicks. Well PopPop was over and joined LL on the trampoline, not doing bicycle kick. He is in his 70's after all!!!


It was funny to see my 72 year old, 6 foot 3 inch Dad, bouncing around! Little Lion had a blast and I bet he did too :) And the trampoline didn't even break :) haha

Food Trucks!

Food Trucks are a new food eating trend! A Food Truck is basically a restaurant on wheels. You go up to the window and order and they cook it there and hand it to you and then eat outside in your own chairs. It's a fancy tailgating. Sunday night we had a Food Truck Bazaar in our neighborhood. It's where 15-20 different food trucks come to one area and people go around and get many many food choices! It was actually overwhelming to decide what to pick. Here is one row of food trucks.
We decided on BBQ Brisket for dinner.

We did also get a Pumpkin Spice Crepe and Red Velvet Cupcakes for dessert! Yummy! However, I was too busy stuffing my face to take pictures :)

In honor of Halloween, they also had Trunk o Treating. That's where the cars are dressed up and you go from car to car for candy.

And you can't have a bazaar without a big bouncy slide :)

So excited that this will be happening every month!! A great way to hang out with the neighbors and eat yummy food!!

11 Months!!!

Ok really bloggy friends, my BABY is one short month away from turning O-N-E!!!! I can't believe how fast the time has gone by!! Yes I know I say that every month, but sheesh I'm birthday planning now!! Here's my cutie in all her glory :)
Flower Power has had an exciting month with learning how to walk and getting VERY brave and adventuresome! Little Lion was never this ambitious! She definitely keeps me on my toes!!

FP still has no teeth, but eats like a champ. Her newest favorite are suckers...thank you Halloween! FP also thinks she is a funny girl by fake sneezing...aaahhhh choo! She has been using her voice to let us know her thoughts: laughing, babbling, whining, and crying...Such a girl!!! And one last cute picture.
Birthday planning is in full force now!! A big party for ME for surviving year one :)
