End of Summer Fun

We are down to our last week of summer vacation. This past week we've been doing a few fun things around the house.

I made Little Lion a cape out of an old Tshirt. I've become a BIG fan of pinterest.com. I've gotten a lot of good ideas on it. So from here I followed directions (pictures:) It is VERY easy and I like easy!!

LL is going to school 4 days a week and I'm trying to expand LL's food repertoire.
He did try the ham, but not the bread. Hey it's progress.

LL reads really well as I've shown you in past blog posts. He, however, is not a fan of writing. We've been practicing daily. I wrote Dad. And one of my proudest Mom moments, LL wrote my name:)

Summer was fun, but I am ready for school to start. I understand now why Mom's are jumping at the bit for school. It's hard to entertain all day, every day. And this is why Mom's rock!

I AM a Good Wife!!!

So my husband is REALLY into sports!! He loves baseball, football, and soccer most. He played baseball all of his life. And was rather good:) He even played in the Little League World Series when he was 13....a long, long, long time ago:) And baseball paid for his college education. Well now that he is a little older and less in shape, Mr.E and his friends, the same ones that he played Little League with, started a Fantasy Football League. They have been in this league for 13 years!!! It's a keeper league (that FF talk for keeping their certain players every year). There is a TON of trash talk and late night strategizing. Well after 13 years, Mr.E finally won this past season. Today was their draft and where the champion is presented with the trophy to keep for the season. Mr.E was very proud when he got home!!!
Now onto why I'm a good wife. Here is where Mr.E placed his trophy.
Yes that is our living room. Yes he did remove a picture of OUR CHILDREN!!!! So being the good wife that I am....it's only a year....right?!?!?!

Talking

Flower Power is taking after her Momma! She is a talker!! She has quite a few words. Her first was Dada. She also says Yeah, Hi, Yes, and Uh oh. But her newest and and first sentence.....I got it! She says it almost every time she picks something. She is so proud of herself :) Here she is talking.
Did you notice one VERY important word was missing???? Does she say Mama....NOOO!!! I'm sure it'll come;)

Hair Do

I have naturally curly hair! I do love it unlike most people. Ok maybe I like it because it literally takes me 5 minutes to do my hair. Wash, scrunch, airdry, go. However, I am getting up in age.....and like to be cute. That means my naturally mousey brown hair needs some help every 3 months. So by the end of summer, I look like this!
Not too bad, but the cut is grown out and look at those roots!!!
It was time for a trip to the salon. I've been going to Lisa who was a parent of one of my 5th grade students...who recently graduated high school, see I told you I was old:) This was my inspiration picture.
I liked the color and cut which my curls should do nicely. Here is how mine turned out.

Hahaha. Ok not exactly the same....yet! My curly hair gets mad at me for a week or so after being cut and colored which leads to me straightening it. I think the color is close. I'll keep you posted on a curly picture in a week:)

Sweet Girl!

I haven't taken many pictures lately of Flower Power. So I took a few yesterday. She looks so tall and her hair is starting to grow. The baby look is fading away;(

She still has blue eyes and really looks like me ;)
Little Lion is too sweet with her. He was playing games on my phone and wanted to share with her. I love how he positioned himself in her lap without squishing her:)

Box!

Flower Power is growing like a weed....haha pun intended;o) That means she is outgrowing her clothes! And there is A LOT of them!!! So I need to pack them away. This brings me to The Box.

Airhockey!

Sorry I've been a bad blogger lately! It's been busy busy with all the birthdays and the family coming and going. Hopefully with school right around the corner, I'll be blessed with more time....ie..blogging :)

Airhockey is Little Lion's newest obsession! He wants to play it whenever he sees a table and it's on his Christmas list! He's actually pretty good at it. He usually wins. Here he is playing with his cousin A.

IFly Indoor Skydiving

As I stated in my last post...It's my birthday, It's my birthday, I'm going to party like it's my birthday!! We went to IFly Indoor Skydiving here in Otown. It was so much fun and a thrill to skydive (in a safe, non jumping out of a plane falling to your death way:) A, Mr.E and I along with my Mom and the kids got to the place and we watched the group in front of us. It was a little scary seeing these people floating above the ground, but everyone came out happy after and no one was hurt, so I knew I'd survive:)

We left Mom and the kids in the observation room as we went to our instruction class. And by class, I mean a 5 minute video on hand signals and proper body position.
Our instructor came back and we got geared up. Don't hate how beautiful we are :)
We thought we'd have a little fun and practice while we were waiting to head down to the wind tunnel.

Here is Mr.E on his first flight. You can see that he is higher than the instructor.
I was next. I did really good and went to the top by myself. This just happens to be a picture of me down low, but I was looking at the camera;)
My niece A was next. She was a little nervous, but did fine.
For the second flight, you got to fly by yourself for a bit and then the instruction attached himself to you. The two of you did tricks...up and down and spins. VERY FUN!!! This is the instructor and me.
At the end you get your certificate and we got the DVD which I'll post later once we upload it to the computer.
This may be one of the coolest touristy things I've done in Orlando!! I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting! It's a bit pricey, but if you have an entertainment book there is a buy one, get one free coupon. Gotta love a deal;)

Happy Birthday to MEEEEE!!!!!!

I'm finally 29....again:) Today is the day that my wonderful mother birthed an 8lb 3oz baby girl (same as LL's weight). In honor of my birthday and Mr.E's which was Friday and my niece A whose bday is Saturday (August is the birthday month in my family!!), we are going INDOOR SKYDIVING!!! I'll post pictures and hopefully video soon! I'm excited since this is the only skydiving I'll be doing;)

Finally!

When I was pregnant with Flower Power, Mr.E and I painted the family room wall. I think they call that nesting;) Well after that work, I was too tired to decorate and then FP was born which took up all my time and of course Little Lion needed attention too! So our wall was bare until this week. It only took 10 months to get something on our wall!

Shopping

You know I love to shop! Is it bad that I'm teaching Flower Power???


I don't think so :) Shopping is a girl's best friend!!

8 Months!

8 Months seems so old! Little Flower Power is getting to be such a big girl all too quickly!!! She loves to play with her toys and rolls all over. However, she'd prefer to walk!
FP continues to sleep through the night and now naps in her crib instead of Mommy;O) She babbles constantly and usually says DADADADADADA! I say Mamma, she says Dada. Flower Power waves back when waved to and can say hey. She has recently started clapping to music. One of her new tricks is standing on the couch and bouncing. I see a future cheerleader :)
I know I say this monthly, but really, watching your children grow is the best possible gift! Can't wait for the next month to come!
