Yes the slacker blogger in me has come out this holiday season :) I still haven't downloaded the Christmas pictures off the camera! But we had a great Christmas and hope you did too!!! I'll have to start off the new year with a better blogging attitude and get back on the wagon!
For Christmas, Santa brought me Wii Fit Plus. All of us have had a great time playing the new games. Little Lion even has a new favorite game. He likes the Pink game as he calls it. It's meant to work on hand-eye coordination. You stand on the wii board and hold the remote. There are two levels where the balls fall. The top level you control with your remote and the bottom level you control by leaning on the board. The object is to get the balls into their corresponding color. Little Lion is quite ready for both the remote and the board. So we can to the compromise of me controlling the remote and LL leaning on the board. He is actually pretty good :) Here he is showing off his skills. Don't mind the notorious no pants LL or the mess on the floor :) You can see he gets the ball in at every firework!

Christmas Show!
Here is the video of Little Lion's first preschool Christmas show:) Notice him not singing and looking around as to what the other kids were doing, and he was the ONLY one who didn't take the bells. However it was still CUTE!!

Drum Hero!
Little Lion LOVES playing instruments! He has numerous guitars around the house that he "plays" while music is on. One of his other favorite instruments are the drums! We have the Beatles rock band game. It comes with a drum set. LL thinks he's a rock star when he plays them! He even has a rock star face! Just watch my future rock star jamming out on the drums. You can hear Mr.E playing the keyboard in the background!

Snow Bunny
This year for Christmas my in-laws gave us their timeshare week, but we had to use it before the end of the year. So Mr.E and I decided to go skiing in Steamboat Springs, Colorado while Little Lion stayed home with Grandma and PopPop. Yes we were very fortunate to go on not one, but two trips alone this year!
We arrived in Denver, Wednesday morning. We picked up our rental car and drove 3 hours to Steamboat. We checked in to find that our room had an electric fireplace! We used it everyday, all day ;)Here was the view from our balcony. Gorgeous!
That night we went to dinner and to see New Moon in their tiny movie theater...it only shows FOUR movies!!
Thursday, we headed up to the mountain for my big debut as a skier! I've never skied before, but Mr. E has and now snowboards. He was determined to teach me! He was a good teacher and had me going down the bunny hill within a few hours. Here is my professional snowboarder hubby ;)
Since the mountain had just opened the week prior, not all the trails or lifts were open. There was only 3 lifts and not a ton of snow. So they were making it.Once you got on the lifts the view was amazing! Here's the view from the Christie Express Lift. The other main lift that was open was the Gondola which went to the middle of the mountain. The top wasn't open yet. It was an enclosed lift. The ride took 15 mins and was beautiful! Here we are at the middle of the mountain.
Now the reason I went to the middle of the mountain was that everyone I talked to said I could make it down the "blue" trails which are the easiest. Ok I'll be brave. I have Mr.E with me to help me stop if I need to:) So we start the trail and we get about a quarter of the way down and I'm freaking out the whole way!! It was very steep and very narrow and I'd fall a couple of times. I was over it. So we called ski patrol who came to "rescue" me :) They took me on the snowmobile back to the Gondola and rode it down. Mr.E snowboarded the rest of the way down with the other ski patrol guy and even got a tour of another trail that wasn't open to the public. I admit I was a wimp, but hey it's my first time ;)
Friday was more of the same. Skiing and Snowboarding. I stayed on the bottom half of the mountain and enjoyed it just fine. My cute husband went down the harder trails. The problem with this day was that it was COLD!!!!! It was -3 at the mountain with a windchill of -15 and then once you get skiing, it was even colder!! So we didn't stay out as long. Here we are at the mountain.
Saturday, we headed into town to check out the sights and the local flare. The town was quaint, but very small!! Every building was log cabiny and not many chain restaurants or stores. Here are some scenic pics from our walk.
The highlight of the day for me was going to the Alpine Slide. This is a mountain where they have 3 huge and high ski jumps. We watched the KIDS jump. We even saw an Olympic jumper....I forgot his name though. These kids would jump 300 feet and land perfectly! I didn't see a single one fall! Talk about putting my skiing skills to shame!
The next morning we had to head back to Denver to catch our flight. It was snowing hard and driving was not fun. Our 3 hour drive took us 4.5 hours! However, I did manage to catch a few good scenic shots. Check out the snow over the mountains!
And you can't go on vacation without a few fun shots! Here is our favorite gas station. Yes it was the butt of jokes! And the closest Target which was 45 mins away! A log cabin!! Sears was next to it and it was log cabiny too!We had a great time in Colorado, and I enjoyed skiing. However, I am VERY grateful to live in Florida where we don't have to put on layers, boots, hat, mittens, scarf, and winter jacket every time we go outside :) And driving in snow is no fun at all!
