Soccer!

Since we have no pool pictures, we have soccer pictures!! Mr.E is the coach. The team....

Little Lion is enjoying soccer so much this year. And I love seeing him out here and smiling away:)

Pool Install Day 6.....

A whole lot of nothing going on so far today....boo!! But we knew that:) The stripping and grading will happen either later today or tomorrow. Stay posted!!

Day 5 Pool Install...Gunite

The gunite concrete guys were here bright and early 7AM!! They pulled out the shooter and primed the area.

Then they started. It was so dusty! They put a cover up to "protect" the house.

So I decided to be sneaky and take a picture from the bathroom.

However, pretty quickly my view became this.

After the dust settled, I went out and took pictures from the other side. Since they were shooting the other way....way less dust!!

Here they are working on the sun shelf.

Here they are finishing up the rest of the pool.

And the finished product!! It looks like a pool :)

I think we may go "swimming" tomorrow after it dries:)

Day 4 Pool Install....Inspections

We had 3 inspections today and all 3 PASSED!! Shooting the pool gunite tomorrow! Going to be another exciting day! Lots of pictures I'm sure :)

Day 3 Pool Install...Iron

Well we woke up this morning to a little cave in. Nothing a shovel couldn't take care of.

After fixing the cave in, the Iron Man :) put up the "walls".

And then the checker board of iron filled in the shape of the pool.

I think he'll be done for the day soon. Tomorrow is inspection day. I don't think I'll take pictures of that! haha!!

Day 2 Pool Install Continued

They came back from lunch to yes that's right digging! I really thought they'd never finish!!

They finally made it out of the deep end and continued to the sun shelf.

It has a shape!!! When it was all done, Little Lion and I decided to take a swim :)

This time as the workers pushed to get the digger out, I recorded just to show really how tight it is!! Today the Iron guy is here. I'll try to update at lunch :)

Day 2 Pool Install...Digging!

The dump truck came early this morning. However, we had a slight problem. The pool hole had some water in it. Since we are close to the water table and we had a heavy weekend of rain, it was higher than normal. So they brought in some rock and a pump to fix the issue.

The guy had to get in and spread the rocks out. You can see how deep the pool will be :)

The rest of the morning has been digging, digging, digging. It's taking a while since they are using the little digger! Here is there progress so far.

They will be done digging today and potentially start the iron framing. I'll keep you posted!

Day 1 Pool Install!!! Continued!

Well after lunch the dump truck arrived! I assumed they'd start digging....
But they were just clearing out the land.

Little Lion came home from school and this is how we spent our afternoon! Fascinating!

Then they roped off the pool and put in the framing.

Just when we thought they were done for they day....they started digging!!!

We watched from a prime spot!
They finished the deep end...one whole truck load!!
Tomorrow they are finishing the hole and starting the iron framing! Stay tuned!!

Day 1 Pool Install!!!

Yippee! The diggers are here!

First problem was getting the digger to the backyard! I should have videoed it! However I didn't want to make the guys nervous!!! They really had ZERO room to spare to fit it through the fence and the house. One guy even had to lean on the fence to make some more room. But they made it with no scratches!!

Next on the list was get rid of the stump and roots from the tree Mr.E took down. Remember that scary video??
After getting the huge root system out in 10 minutes they moved onto the concrete porch. They used a jack hammer to help break it up.


After all that hard work......They went on a break....................

So I went outside and took some pictures of the damage :)


We were so amused watching it all happen!! Hopefully they be back soon and stay for a while! I'll try to update at the end of the day :)

Day 1 Pool Installation Delayed:(

We're delayed before we even start:( Wahhhhhh!! We woke up so excited this morning! At 7:30 the digger came to remeasure our access to the backyard. Our neighbors have a fence. It is too small for their digger, so they were going to rent another one. Well the rain chance here today is 60% and tomorrow 80%. Rain means that the hole could fill back in or cave in making them have to dig again. So in order to not risk having to rent the machine twice, we decided to wait until Monday. Boo!!! Where is our Florida sunshine???????????

Details

Picking out the colors is one of the more fun things to do in the whole pool process. We decided on bluey silver tiles with a blackish silver accent.
Today we went to the brickyard to check out pavers and coping for the deck. I had an idea of what I wanted. Since we live in Florida and wanted a light color and the color of the house is in the grey family, we decided on a light grey with lighter and darker colors mixed in. Here are all the tiles and bricks together.
While we were off picking pavers, they came and painted where our cable lines are.....you know Call before you Dig....have you seen that commercial back in the day??
