Day 14 Pool Install....Tile

We had a pleasant surprise this morning...the tile guys arrived!!! I wasn't expecting them until tomorrow. 

I had Muffins with Mom at Little Lion's school this morning. When I returned this is what I came home to.

As I was gone, Mr.E was talking with the tile guys and they had thought the accent glass tile was going to be on the steps. We had wanted them to be on the back wall. However, it made Mr.E think that that was a good idea. He sent me on a mission to go get more tile for the floor. So I dropped Flower Power off at the inlaws (yeah for inlaws that live close) and went to the tile store. I called ahead of time to make sure the tile was in stock which it was and when I arrived it was not:( So I'm not quite sure what was going on there, but I did get 2 sheets of pretty close tile for a fantastic price! I get home and our fantastic contractor Joe was here. He realizes our fittings in the pool are the wrong color. He was going to fix it. We also found out from the tile guys that our grout we picked was discontinued. So we picked a new color...delorean gray. All will be fine :) We are in good hands!! Here the tiles guys laid out the accent tile and where it's going.

The kiddos and I headed to a friends house to play for awhile and came home to the tile being installed on the stairs. First they put down a cement layer.

The final stair product. The tile guys were sooooo precise!! They had the measure tapes out and levels. We were very impressed with them making sure everything was level and geometrically straight!

And we even had our first wild animal in the pool!!! A baby snake!

As you know my Snake Charmer of a husband rescued him.

Tomorrow they'll be back! Hopefully just the tile guys and not the snake :)

Where are you??

Since we are in a pool lull, thought we needed some Flower Power:) She is such a stinker!! I think the terrible 2's has started at almost one and a half!! FP is starting to learn that you get attention when you are sassy too. This has been a good way for her to show her jealousy of her brother. She tends to do things that are not safe to get my attention. For example, I'll be getting Little Lion ready for school, and FP climbs on the chair and stands and starts rocking!!! Of course I have to stop what I'm doing to get her. As soon as Ll goes to school she becomes her angel self and plays nice.

Flower Power has found a secret hiding place recently. I was finishing up dishes and came to the family room and didn't see her. Getting a little panicky, I called her name and I hear her.

Good thing she's cute :)

Pool Install Blog Day 11....Plumbing Contd.

The plumbers were back today. They started by adding additional pipes while they waited for the inspector to arrive.

Inspection Passed! The pump and heater arrived. The plumbers started installing. And yes they were half naked all day long.....talk about feeling weird taking pictures!!! :)

After they finished installing and putting in pipes in the pool, they got out the kabota and filled in all the holes.

Here is all the equipment! We will need to extend our fence by 6 feet!

And the best part of the pool....the Mac Daddy Heater!! Yes in Florida you still need a heater!! Plus I'm a wuss and like the temperature between 86-90 YEAR ROUND:) It's the same size as our a/c!!

The next item up is tiling which should happen Friday.

Day 10 Pool Install...Plumbing

The plumbing started being installed today. We need another digger to dig the trenches.

They added the one pipe which will be inspected on Monday...must be important because that was basically the only pipe they laid:)

Now our nicely graded land is in piles of dirt!

And for safety...they put the fence around the pool...NOT the big trenches around the pool for the 1 & 5 year old to fall into...So for the weekend, I have to be extra vigilant!

Monday we'll have a plumbing inspection and they'll finish up in the afternoon. And sadly nothing until Friday which the tile should be installed. I hate that it's slowing down. It was so exciting to have something done everyday and see progress, and now trying to wait patiently with a teasing pool in front of your eyes!

Day 9 Pool Install...Nothing

Nothing yesterday for Day 9, but we are working on plumbing today. Look for a blog post later today with pictures. The backyard is a MESS right now!!

Day 8 Pool Install....Grading Updated!

The BobCat should be here soon to start the grading....keep posted for pictures:) Updated!!!! I will start off with the before picture of the huge pile of dirt in the backyard.

The BobCat arrived and promptly started taking away some dirt while another guy took out the wood frame.

Then we had a little drama....One of the workers fell on a pipe in the pool and cut himself on a iron rod. So there was some blood and a hurt ego, but he survived and went home early. He probably should get a tetanus shot, but I'm not a doctor :) The pile is getting smaller.

Wood is out and piled on the sunshelf. They are coming tomorrow to finish it up and take it away.

From the back you can see how it will raise up 6inches and 12 inches.

Tomorrow they'll finish up and Friday we'll have the plumbing guy out here!

Day 7 Pool Install.....nothing;(

Well our grading was supposed to get started today. However, my brother-in-law is also getting a pool by the same company (Signature Pools) and is getting his dug today which is the same crew that would do the grading! Grrr to brother-in-laws :) haha So tomorrow or Thursday. Whenever the troublemaker's gets done!
